At last year’s Becker’s Hospital Review, Maimonides Medical Center (MMC) discussed their partnership with Unqork. At the time, MMC was in the process of building MaimoCare, a patient application meant to increase access to virtual care.
By leveraging Unqork’s Codeless Architecture to accelerate development, MaimoCare is officially live after only two years! Healthcare IT News spoke with Rob Cimino, vice president of digital health strategy and implementation at Maimonides, about this “massive digital health initiative”.
Using Persistent Systems (a systems integrator partner with Unqork), MMC was able to efficiently integrate these critical third-party applications: Amwell for virtual visits, Okta for access management, Verato for an enterprise master person index, LexisNexis Risk Solutions for identity proofing, and MMC’s R1/SCI scheduling platform for self-scheduling.
“We’ve come a long way in two years,” says Rob. “”Virtual care is now implemented across all Maimonides ambulatory practices, with more than 400 providers trained and, on average, 2,000 patients—7% of all ambulatory encounters—engaged through virtual visits each month.”
