Unqork Government Live Build Challenge ‘24: KPMG’s Medicare Claims Application

KPMG built an innovative Medicare Claims application in real-time using the Unqork Enterprise App Cloud

As part of the recent Unqork Government Live Build Challenge ‘24, KPMG was tasked with building (in-real time!) an application that showcased how the government can leverage development with Unqork to rapidly drive impactful mission modernization. 

The team from KPMG decided to create a modern Medicare Claims application. Improving and digitizing user experiences is a top priority for the government in order to improve accessibility to its programs and streamline the processes surrounding them. One area that has traditionally been cumbersome for both patients and healthcare providers is Medicare claim submissions.

The current Medicare claim submission process is laborious and often fraught with delays and manual errors. Patients are frequently left to navigate complex forms and documentation requirements on their own, leading to frustration and potential reimbursement delays. 

Recognizing this challenge, the KPMG team sought to improve the user experience and streamline the process by creating a Medicare claims submission portal with Unqork’s codeless development platform. As a result, they built an application that: 

• Mirrors the official Medicare claim form while integrating advanced features such as conditional logic, validation checks, and address validation through Google Places, reducing the likelihood of errors and delays.
• Improves navigation by enabling patients to easily track the status of their claims, view updates, and download necessary documents—all from an intuitive, centralized dashboard that increases transparency in a complex process.
• Automates document compilation and provides guidance on required documentation, ensuring compliance with Medicare regulations and reducing manual errors.
