The Transformational Power of No-Code on AWS

placeholder

No-code can transform insurance and financial services. Industry experts Ralph Severini and Terry Buechner of AWS explain how, from customer satisfaction to product development & distribution.

Hear about the massive opportunity no-code represents across industries, especially insurance and financial services, from industry experts Ralph Severini (Global Business Development, Insurance) and Terry Buechner (Global Partnerships, FSI) of AWS

Ralph sees a major trend in insurance being a shift towards the end-user. Rather than going to IT and developers for software, there should be enough “simplicity in the technology development” to allow “the regular knowledge workers to build applications and access data at will.” He hits on many challenges that are driving this need:

  • Silos slowing processes down: Historically, there is a siloed approach to products, applications, and data, which in turn is causing a lack of self-service automation that other industries have been able to deliver

  • Poor communication: Disjointed communication between the producer, the customer, and the insurer

  • Aging workforce: Lack of new techniques (‘we’ve always done it this way’); meanwhile, the younger workers are scrambling to capture tribal knowledge before the senior underwriters retire

  • Little to no straight-through processing: The industry still lacks the ability to simplify and streamline the way they underwrite risks

“And I think a platform like Unqork fits right into that mindset as a tool for those knowledge workers [that want] to build and to experiment, to test and learn, to be able to create exceptional experiences for various stakeholders.”

“One of the big use cases that is permeating insurance is around fast and agile customer interaction, where both self-service and handholding are available,” Ralph explains. “And I think here’s where that combination of Unqork’s no-code platform combined with solutions like voice-to-text, chatbots, and maybe an Alexa. They’re at the heart of this entire customer innovation movement.”

“AWS is the place for builders,” adds Terry. “And I think a platform like Unqork fits right into that mindset as a tool for those knowledge workers [that want] to build and to experiment, to test and learn, to be able to create exceptional experiences for various stakeholders.”

According to Terry, the value of no-code and the Unqork platform on AWS can be summed up as such: “the speed-to-market, increased agility, the ability to experiment, the ability to lower development costs, and to scale up and down as needed.”
