Unqork kicks off its 2022 Veterans Storytelling Series with a conversation between Netta Jenkins, VP of global inclusion at Unqork, and Jason Cust, a director of engineering at Unqork and a veteran of the United States Air Force (USAF).
The series aims to strengthen connections among veterans from Unqork and beyond by sharing personal stories that have shaped them. These conversations also give a chance for members of the broader community to deepen their understanding of, and connection with, their colleagues who are veterans.
Jason’s Story
Jason, whose father was awarded both a Bronze Star and Purple heart, served in the USAF from 1995 to 1998, where he was trained as a ground radar maintenance operator technician and operator. Because of his exceptional performance, knowledge, and leadership qualities, he was selected to be a primary trainer and shift leader.
After his honorable discharge, Jason attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he discovered his passion for technology and engineering
“A veteran is someone who encapsulates what I think we could do together, if we’re all focused on common goals,” says Jason.
