Dino Trevisani, Unqork’s Chief Growth Officer and Gratitude Month Executive Sponsor
There is a unique energy that builds at the end of the year as we find a collective moment to pause and reflect on the people and milestones that make our work meaningful. This year, Unqork channeled that energy into our third annual Gratitude Month, a month-long celebration designed to help our team thrive.
From mindful journaling to high-energy shoutout competitions, our volunteer-led planning committee (shoutout to Casey, Lionel, Matt, Arianna, and Dara!) curated a month of connection. Their goal was simple: provide the space for Unqorkers to show appreciation for themselves, their peers, and their communities.
Measurable Results
Since launching the initiative in 2023, we’ve seen a 10% increase in the amount Unqorkers feel recognized for their work, according to engagement surveys. It is proof that when we are thoughtful about showing gratitude outside of the day-to-day, we can make a meaningful difference in how people experience the workplace.
As Committee Lead and Director of HR Operations, Casey Londregan, puts it: “A workplace that focuses on gratitude is more appreciative and positive. It is a work environment where all Unqorkers can thrive.”
In addition to mindful journaling and shoutout competitions, the Gratitude Committee planned a variety of programming that included a customized Wellness Gratitude Workshop and company-wide giveaways. These events focused on four topics:
- Mindful Gratitude
- Peer Praise
- Cause for Applause
- Leadership Shared Gratitude
Through these events, the committee aimed to give employees a chance to reflect on ways to show gratitude to themselves, their loved ones, their communities, and their peers.
The Best Thing You Can Do for Your Peers
Dino Trevisani, Unqork’s Chief Growth Officer, had only been with Unqork for a few weeks when he heard about the November plan and immediately signed up to sponsor the efforts. As Gratitude Month Executive Sponsor, he made an immediate impact by bringing gratitude to life in our office by starting a gratitude wall where employees could reflect on different prompts throughout the month.
“After 40 years of working in technology, my most impactful memories are when people that I’ve worked with shared their appreciation for my support. More impactful than any deal or promotion,” said Dino when asked why he wanted to join the effort.
“Showing appreciation is the best thing you can do for your peers,” he added.
Giving Gratefully
One highlight to share was in Week 3 (Cause for Applause) when Unqork Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) carefully picked charities or organizations that further their missions or support a specific effort/group and made donations. This year, the effort yielded $3,100 for local and national nonprofits!
“This collective effort highlights Unqork’s commitment to our missions and demonstrates how employees embody our “Qorks” (values),” says Matt Caballero, Unqork’s Lead Security Governance Analyst, who was in charge of coordinating the donations. Here are the charities they donated to:
- Chocolatey – United Activities
- Mucho Amor – OYE!
- Qork.api – Heart of Dinner
- Unqork Access – The Arc of the United States
- Caregivers of Unqork – GiveDirectly – SNAP
- Queer Qorks – ACLU
- Veterans – HOHP 4 Heroes
- Womxn of Unqork – Safe Horizon
- Volunqork – Coalition for the Homeless
“It was a privilege for Unqork Access to participate in Gratitude Month. Giving back to any organization that supports and champions accessibility is one of the greatest opportunities and blessings we as a group can make,” adds Cliff Coss, President of ERG Unqork Access.
So, we say thank you to our employees for leading this valuable and necessary effort to slow down and take the time to share moments of gratitude in so many ways. Thank you to the ERGs for their donations and the steps they took to give back.
Here’s to a lovely 2025 and we look forward to what’s ahead for 2026!
