Crum & Forster Wins Core Systems Initiatives Award
The Core Systems Initiatives Award recognizes insurers who are building strategic capabilities that unlock long-term business goals. Crum & Forster took the prize for a modern underwriting solution that centralizes underwriting workflows and automates manual processes, including with AI.
The solution has resulted in “faster, more reliable service for brokers and clients, strengthening the company’s competitive position in the specialty insurance market,” the Datos team writes. Measurable impacts include:
- 35% shorter quote turnaround times
- 75% reduction in system load times
- 20% increase in underwriter submissions
- $250K in annual savings through elimination external OCR vendors
- Improved risk from enhanced data accuracy and reduced manual entry errors
The solution was built with Unqork, with AWS for hosting, Kong for API management, Side.AI developed in-house for generative AI and OCR, and Azure OpenAI GPT-3.5 for document summarization and data extraction.
Arch wins Digital Initiatives Award
The Digital Initiatives Award celebrates solutions that drive growth and efficiency by improving the flow and availability of information, streamlining business processes, and improving UX. This year’s award went to Arch for its Apollo solution, a digital underwriting workbench that consolidates more than 10 fragmented systems into a single interface.
According to Datos, expected impacts of the solution include:
- Faster time to market
- Reduced submission abandonment rates
- Increase underwriter productivity
- Streamlined workflows and embedded analytics
To build the solution, Arch leveraged the Unqork platform for UI and business rules, with Boomi iPaaS as the interoperability layer. Other embedded technologies include a policy administration system, pricing models, content management, content generation, and analytical tools.
